Porthgain Harbour and North Pembrokeshire’s Best

North Pembrokeshire’s Iconic Views

Today I went to visit some of the most photographed views in North Pembrokeshire. Not because I thought I could bring anything new to them, they’ve been photographed a million times. I just wanted to take a few images to see what they’d look like. To see how places that are undeniably photogenic would make me try harder. It’s sometimes easier to take something less obvious and make an interesting composition, but with St David’s Cathedral, Porthgain harbour, Trefin and Abercastle beach it’s all there already. I looked around, made a few images and found that in the end the best of them needed a protagonist in the landscape, a boat a van or a tractor. I was a fun day broken up by a nice lunch in the Sloop in Porthgain. The colours were strong and the weather hot, let’s hope that we have another bright blue summer.

Here are a few of the images I took, the colour pictures feel like summer to me while the black and whites feel like they’re loaded with a sense of time, I suppose that’s just the trick that monochrome always plays.
